In the wedding ceremonies of India, the attire worn by the bride is as important as that of the groom. There are a wide variety of dresses that can be worn by an Indian bride at her wedding ceremony. Some of the most common traditional Indian wedding dresses include classic lehengas and saris. The sari is much preferred by brides in East, West and South India. Brides of North India prefer the gagra choli, lehenga and odni Indian dresses for wedding. Then most brides of North-east India much prefer the traditional attire called the mekhela sador. So, while there are globally known wedding Indian dresses, there is a much wider variety available to Indian brides the world over.
