weaknesses.
Strengths:
We've always found that
disengageable dies are one of the better features to have in a binding
system, and the TW3100 has forty of them. What this means is that you
will be able to punch and bind documents that are up to 14" in length
(also known as legal size). This feature alone means that the TW3100 is
one of the most affordable double loop binding systems on the market.
The TW3100 features two separate handles, one that operates the
punching mechanism and one for the wire closer. This is a great idea, a
lot of similar binding systems have just one handle that operates both
the punching mechanism and the wire closer. A one handle design can
often leads to stress on the wire closer which then leads to a loss of
accuracy. The TW3100's two handle design ensures that you won't have to
worry about this. In addition to the forty
disengageable dies, the TW3100 also features a gauge that allows you to
control the depth of your punch. This great feature allows the user to
ensure functionality of documents both thick and thin. On larger
documents, for instance, you will want the punched holes to be a little
further from the sheet edge so the pages will turn easily and they are
less likely to be accidentally torn from the book during normal usage.
The TW3100 features all metal construction including all of the major
components. It is clearly built to stand up to years of use. Tamerica
must agree, they provide a two year warranty on this machine whereas
the industry standard seems to be one year.
