This is how you can go live on YouTube
Allow your channel to be activated
Your YouTube channel must be verified before you can live stream. If you have not done that until now, go to www.youtube.com/verify to add your mobile number and receive 6-digit verification code. After that, follow the steps.
On desktop
Go to www.youtube.com/dashboard.
Click the Create button at the top right corner.
Click Go Live.
Notification: Live streaming requires 24 hours for activation
On mobile
Open the YouTube app.
Click the camcorder icon at the top right.
Tap Go Live.
Notable: Live streaming on mobile requires more than 1000 subscribers
Decide how you want your live stream to be recorded
YouTube streaming has three main recording options
Webcam
Mobile cam
Encoder streaming
Recording with your device's camera is easy and free of any software. What you gain in ease, you lose quality. An encoder, also known as streaming software, allows you to use more audio/video gear and multiple cameras (including desktop) without sacrificing quality.

Make sure to prepare a title, description and thumbnail image before you publish.
How to make a YouTube live stream from your desktop
Go to www.youtube.com/dashboard on a Chrome 60+ or Firefox 53+ browser.
Click the camcorder icon at the top right corner.
Click on Go Live and then choose Webcam.
Add your title, privacy settings.
Click on More options to add a description or enable or disable livechat, monetization and promotion, and many other options.
Click Next. YouTube will automatically take a thumbnail photo of your webcam. After taking the thumbnail photo, you can either retake it or upload another image.
Click Go Live.
Select End Stream to stop the stream.
How to make a YouTube live stream from your Smart device
Choose camcorder icon from YouTube app.
Click Go Live.
Add your title, privacy setting.
To add a description, select More Options. To enable or disable livechat, age restrictions, monetization and promotion disclosures, select Show More.
To exit, press Show Less and choose Next. Upload a thumbnail or take a photo.
Tap Share to share the link via social media.
Click Go Live.
Click Finish to stop and then click OK.
