Since the system was launched, it has worked without any problems and only minimal troubleshooting has been needed. A commercial water filtration system is designed to remove large amounts of salt, particles and other contaminants from salt water. Reverse osmosis removes salts, particles and other contaminants from the water by applying high concentrations of salt in a partially porous membrane with a high-pressure pump.

The reverse osmosis membrane passes only water molecules through the tiny pores of the membrane, while salts, particles and other impurities are trapped and discharged into the brine bath and then into the sewer. This then produces clean drinking water that can be collected at the bottom of the membrane. Green sand filters are used specifically to reduce the iron content in the water treatment process.

They use greensand, a type of sand that can remove iron, manganese and hydrogen sulphide from water by oxidation and filtration. The advantages of greensand filters include: reduction of iron over a wide pH range, effective reduction of hydrogen sulphide, avoidance of the hazardous effects of chlorine addition, and reduction of wear on the filter bed, ensuring a longer filter bed lifetime.

Salt water is estuarine and river water. Its salinity is between that of fresh water and sea water. It is not as clean as fresh water, but not as salty as sea water. Its low salt content makes it unsuitable for human consumption. In order to obtain purified water from salt water, a reverse osmosis method is used in the water filtration system.

SOLUTIONS

This commercial water filtration system was developed for a large Pakistani company to reduce the hardness, TDS and odor of the water source. The system is designed with pre- and post-treatment including per chlorination, activated carbon and greensand filters, a dual exchange softener, UV sterilizer and calcite filter. The plant has a capacity of 3000 GPD and is designed for a maximum TDS level of 500 ppm in the feed water. It is selected from our RO-200 series and has a microprocessor control panel.
